The Wide and Narrow Gates - Bible Verse Calligraphy Art Print

This scripture calligraphy features Matthew 7:13-14, which contrasts the narrow and wide gates that Jesus spoke of, with exquisite lettering and symbolic imagery representing the paths to heaven and hell.

Verse 13, which says "You can enter God's kingdom only through the narrow gate", is written in a straight line. There is a narrow space to pass in between where it says "only through the narrow gate."

Verse 13 continues below, where it says "The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose to enter that way". The visual space in the artwork broadens here to emphasize that there is plenty of room to pass through this way. It shows jagged lines to resemble lightning strikes, and arrows pointing down, symbolizing a path that eventually leads to destruction.

Verse 14 above says "But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it." The scripture meanders upwards along a curvy line and the words even turn upside down, showing that the road is indeed difficult, but it leads to life and light, symbolized by the shining cross. The verse ends in the upper right corner of the artwork, hidden in a way, to affirm the point that "only a few ever find it."

Each print is made with archival pigment-based ink on 100% cotton paper.

Frame Option

Each Made-in-the-USA frame is made of 100% oak wood, in either a natural, walnut, black or white finish. They include crystal-clear tempered glass that is 1-2mm thick. The backs of the frame have sawtooth hangers, for either vertical or horizontal hanging. The frame backs also have turnbuttons, which allow you to easily secure and replace the artwork. Sizes 5x7, 8x8 and 8x10 include an easel back, for displaying on a tabletop. The art print comes already secured inside the frame, which is fully assembled and ready to hang (nail included)! Mats are generally not included, but if you'd like to purchase a framed print with a mat, please send me a message and I can arrange for that.

For unframed prints, all size options are standard and come ready to be placed into any standard frame.

Returns

Every print and frame is specially made to order, so we are unable to offer exchanges and returns.  Please be sure to read the description and any size charts provided carefully before ordering.

Damage

If your order arrives damaged or you receive the wrong item, you can request a replacement within 30 days of receiving your order. Let us know here and we'll ship you a replacement asap!
